New marine regulations in US : Effective June 20, 2006 updated regulations for Serious Marine Incidents and mandatory use of alcohol breath testers will come into force. Among other things it requires that marine employers carry alcohol testing devices listed in the most current versions of NHTSA Conforming Products List of Evidential Breath Measurement Devices.

Calibration: All electronic breath alcohol testers need to be periodically calibrated.
